Together, we shine brighter

The Shine A Ligh7 Foundation supports programs that deliver youth mental health education and awareness across Minnesota. One way we do this is by hosting events to create community awareness of current programs available and raise funds to support those programs. When Shine A Light7 first started we understood we could help more children if we leveraged existing programs that had proven success records rather than trying to build our own programming. We are grateful to have these partners and to be able to provide ongoing support to them.  It is our hope to one day have a dedicated community space where we can offer collaborative programming and be a source of inspiration to others.

Partnering with SAL7

  • Campaigns to promote mental health conversations and reduce stigma
  • Collaborations with school districts, local and state government officials, community centers, sports leagues, etc.

Previous And Current Partners

Washburn Center for Children

Washburn Center for Children is the state’s leading children’s mental health center, caring for a wide variety of children’s needs such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. One out of five Minnesota children will experience mental health challenges, yet only 20% get the help they need. Washburn Center believes a child’s mental health is as important as their physical health. When children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges receive early intervention, they have happier childhoods, are less likely to fail academically, drop out of school or become involved in the juvenile justice system.

M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital (MHFMCH)

A regional leader in child/adolescent mental health, MHFMCH has experts in developmental and behavioral pediatrics who can diagnose, monitor, and treat complex developmental and behavioral problems. The Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics team offers supportive, compassionate care for children, adolescents, and young adults. Outpatient assessment and treatment programs address a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, adjustment to chronic illness, chronic pain, school problems, family problems, and oppositional behavior. Parent counseling and support services are also provided.

Confidence Learning Center

Confidence Learning Center is a 501c3 organization that receives no state or federal funding. Our Program is supported by individual donors, fraternal organizations, service clubs, the community and successful fundraising events. “Camp Confidence is the best thing in the Brainerd Lakes Area. In a few short days, these kids receive a lifetime of memories. I’m proud to be associated with it, “stated longtime supporter, Myron Kujawa “Over the years, I’ve personally witnessed the miracles that take place regularly at Camp Confidence. The ‘campers’ are people of all ages with developmental disabilities, who are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities, building self esteem in the process. Camp Confidence is a one of a kind place that changes the lives of campers and their families forever,” remarked  Al Lindner from Lindner Media Productions.
